Counselors

Rebecca Rowley, LCSW

You are welcome here.

Rebecca is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York, a graduate of both Houghton College and Roberts Wesleyan College, and an ordained pastor in the Wesleyan Church. She has worked in individual and group clinical counseling settings for the past 10 years. She has been trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention for families with kids from hard places, and has specialized trauma training in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma treatment modality.

She weaves family systems theory, internal family systems, mindfulness, somatic therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy into her work with clients, but fundamentally believes each client is a unique human and should not be pigeon-holed into one therapeutic approach.

Rebecca's approach to therapy is a collaborative one. She believes in every human's inherent dignity and worth, and will work to uncover each client's own strengths and resources in the process of growth and healing.

"I can give you nothing that has not already its origins within yourself. I can throw open no picture gallery but your own. I can help make your own world visible - that is all." - Herman Hesse
